Kylie Jenner, the 28-year-old beauty mogul, was seen lending her support to boyfriend Timothée Chalamet, 29, at the New York Film Festival this past Monday, October 6th. The couple made a rare and affectionate public appearance at the surprise world premiere of Chalamet’s latest film, A24’s Marty Supreme.

A Surprise Premiere and Star-Studded Introduction

The evening unfolded with an unexpected twist when Chalamet and director Josh Safdie unveiled their new project, a fictionalized narrative based on the life of legendary professional ping-pong player Marty Reisman, during a secret screening. Videos shared on the festival’s official social media accounts captured Jenner backstage with Chalamet and Safdie, moments before they made a grand entrance to introduce the film to an eager audience. They were joined on stage by an impressive ensemble cast, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler, the Creator, Odessa A’zion, and Ronald Bronstein. Addressing the crowd, Chalamet warmly described Marty Supreme as a “love letter to New York.”

Continuing the Celebration

Following the premiere, the celebration continued at the exclusive afterparty held at the Waverly Inn. An onlooker told PEOPLE that Jenner and Chalamet occupied a booth with friends for most of the night, visibly displaying their warm affection and happiness together.

Navigating a High-Profile Romance

Their appearance at the New York Film Festival marks one of the few public sightings of the couple in recent months, whose relationship has been navigating the demands of two high-profile careers since they began dating in the spring of 2023. Prior to this, Jenner flew to Budapest in August to visit Chalamet, who was immersed in filming for the highly anticipated Dune: Part Three. A local coffee shop, where they were photographed, later posted on Instagram, praising the couple for being “super nice and kind” during their visit.

Sources close to the couple have consistently affirmed their commitment, stating they are “making it work” despite often being separated by continents. Chalamet’s filming schedule for Dune, described as “grueling with very little downtime,” has kept him in locations like Budapest and Prague. Meanwhile, Jenner, a mother and successful businesswoman, juggles significant responsibilities in Los Angeles. Despite the 12-hour flight required for her private jet to reach Budapest, the couple reportedly relies on daily FaceTime calls to bridge the distance, with a source confirming, “They miss each other and are totally fine.”

Recent Public Milestones

Earlier in the year, their relationship became more public, with several joint appearances, including attending multiple New York Knicks games. Their highly anticipated red carpet debut took place in Rome at the 70th David Di Donatello Awards, where Chalamet was honored with the prestigious David for Cinematic Excellence. Adding another layer to their public relationship, Jenner also recently made headlines for finally following her beau on Instagram.
