Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, 35, is making a significant play off the field, launching a limited-edition clothing line with American Eagle through his sportswear and lifestyle brand, Tru Kolors. This highly anticipated collaboration, more than a year in the making, aims to seamlessly blend the worlds of fashion, sports, and culture, offering fans a tangible piece of Kelce’s distinctive and bold personal style.
The “AE x Tru Kolors by Travis Kelce” collection is expansive, featuring over 90 unique pieces, priced accessibly from $14.95 to $179.95. Kelce, who founded Tru Kolors in 2019 on the principle of authentic self-expression and fun in style, expressed his long-held excitement for the partnership. “I’ve had to keep my excitement about this collab under wraps for nearly a year,” Kelce stated in a press release. “It was an awesome opportunity to team up with an established brand where both sides were excited to truly collaborate on every decision in the design and creative process that brought the ‘AE x TK’ collection to life.” He emphasized his desire for inclusivity, noting, “I want everyone to feel like there is something for them in the collection, something they can feel good in and make their own.”

Set to roll out in two distinct drops on August 27 and September 24, the collection boasts a diverse range of apparel. Shoppers can expect heavyweight, vintage-inspired tees, classic cricket sweaters, stylish rugby polos, versatile utility cargos, reimagined varsity jackets, soft chenille pieces, and luxurious cashmere sets. Each item features bespoke graphics, reflecting the unique aesthetic and vibrant energy synonymous with the AE x Tru Kolors universe.
To embody the campaign’s “live to play” ethos, Kelce enlisted a roster of dynamic young athletes as campaign stars. This includes rising tennis star Anna Frey, elite basketball guard Azzi Fudd, promising quarterback Drew Allar, the nation’s top wide receiver recruit Jeremiah Smith, top basketball prospect Kiyan Anthony, and Olympic gold medalist and world-class gymnast Suni Lee. Kiyan Anthony lauded the collaborative experience, stating, “When Travis reached out about the campaign, I was super hyped. Getting to work alongside such an incredible group of athletes has been an honor. I love fashion and have a real desire to build in the space, so it was surreal to be part of a campaign like this, especially one that’s meant to support confidence and creativity.”
Jennifer Foyle, President and Executive Creative Director of American Eagle Outfitters, highlighted the natural synergy between the two brands. “An iconic brand teaming up with one of the greatest athletes of our generation — that’s what I call a win,” Foyle remarked. She added that both American Eagle and Tru Kolors share deep roots in “optimism, self-expression, and confidence,” aiming to empower individuals to feel their most authentic selves in their clothing. Foyle commended Kelce’s infectious energy and hands-on dedication throughout the design process, which inspired the team to explore custom fabrics and fits that truly embody his distinct style and perspective.
Kelce has long cemented his reputation as the NFL’s premier fashion “hype beast,” famously transforming his game-day tunnel walks into highly anticipated runway moments. Known for his audacious choices in labels, prints, and bold colors, Kelce consistently pushes fashion boundaries. This collaboration with a mainstream retailer like American Eagle democratizes his signature bold style, making it accessible to a broader audience and reinforcing his influence beyond the gridiron.
The launch of Kelce’s collection follows American Eagle’s recent high-profile campaign featuring ambassador Sydney Sweeney. While that campaign, with its tagline “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,” generated significant social media discussion, American Eagle stood firm, emphasizing its commitment to celebrating individuality and confidence in its denim. This strategic partnership with Kelce further underscores the brand’s dedication to connecting with diverse audiences through authentic and influential voices in sports and culture.
