Victoria Beckham Reveals Near Collapse of Her Fashion Empire, Details Intense Struggle and Dramatic Rescue

London, UK – Fashion mogul Victoria Beckham, 51, has candidly pulled back the curtain on the harrowing financial crisis that brought her eponymous luxury fashion brand to the brink of collapse, revealing multi-million-pound losses and immense personal pressure. These revelations form a central narrative in her new three-part Netflix docuseries, *Victoria Beckham*, offering an unprecedented look into the personal and professional challenges faced by the former Spice Girl.

For years, the Victoria Beckham brand, celebrated for its sophisticated designs and worn by countless celebrities, masked a perilous financial reality. Beckham disclosed that she and her husband, football icon David Beckham, scrutinised the company’s books to find it was “tens of millions in the red,” a deficit that threatened to cease operations entirely.

The emotional toll of this financial strain was profound for the designer. “I almost lost everything, and that was a dark, dark time. I used to cry before I went to work every day because I felt like a firefighter,” Beckham shared in the docuseries. The added complexity of David, 49, being a significant investor in the business compounded the pressure. “Yes I’m going home to my husband, but I’m going home to my business partner as well. And so I would talk to him about it. I had to. He was invested. And I hated it. I absolutely hated it,” she recounted, highlighting the difficulty of separating personal and professional lives when facing such dire circumstances.

David Beckham, speaking openly about this period, admitted his heart “broke” witnessing his proud wife struggle. He recalled the irony of the situation, noting that Victoria was considerably wealthier when they first met, even purchasing their first home, often dubbed “Beckingham Palace” in Hertfordshire. “For her to have to come to me and say, ‘Can I have some — we need some more money. The business needs more money,’ that was hard for both of us because I didn’t have the money to keep doing this and eventually I was like, ‘This cannot continue’.”

Refusing to surrender, Victoria embarked on a desperate search for an outside investor. Her persistence eventually led her to David Belhassen, a shrewd business partner with a keen eye for potential. Belhassen, however, initially recoiled from the opportunity after assessing the dire financial figures. “Frankly, I had never seen something as hard as that to fix,” he stated, leaving Victoria “absolutely heartbroken.”

A twist of fate intervened. Belhassen recounted a pivotal Saturday night date with his wife, who, stunning in a Victoria Beckham creation, raved about the brand’s quality and her frequent purchases. This unexpected endorsement ignited a “fire” in Belhassen. “On Monday, I gathered the team and say, ‘We have to do it. If we fail, we fail.’ So we signed. I remember she was very emotional and she told me, ‘I won’t let you down.’”

The rescue came with a stark condition: a complete overhaul. Belhassen delivered the “painful truth” to Victoria, explaining that “she had to be willing to change everything” and “restructure the business.” Crucially, Victoria embraced this honest feedback, acknowledging that past success had perhaps insulated her from criticism. “Part of the problem was people were really afraid to tell me no,” she reflected. “People thought that I wasn’t used to hearing, ‘no.’ I’ll hold my hands up and be accountable for things that I have done that I should have done and could have done differently, and I was in debt. There was a lot I had to change. I realized I’d lost my way.”

The journey of transformation and resilience culminated in the London premiere of *Victoria Beckham* on October 8, where Victoria walked the red carpet alongside David and their children, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, all impeccably dressed in coordinating black and white ensembles. The docuseries, which began streaming globally on Netflix on October 9, offers an intimate look at the woman behind the brand, her unwavering determination, and the dramatic story of how her fashion empire was saved from the brink.
