Joanna Gaines Is Launching Frozen Baked Goods Line
WACO, Texas – Home design mogul and culinary entrepreneur Joanna Gaines is set to transform kitchens nationwide with the launch of her new ready-to-bake frozen product line from Magnolia Table. Debuting exclusively at Target stores this Sunday, October 5, the collection offers six beloved recipes, bringing Gaines’ signature homemade flavors within reach for even the busiest of households.

The highly anticipated lineup includes an array of sweet and savory delights: rich Chocolate Chip Cookies, classic Classic Sugar Cookies, the unique Silo Cookies, gooey Classic Cinnamon Rolls, comforting After School Banana Bread, and the much-celebrated Jo’s Buttermilk Biscuits. Each product is designed to go straight from the freezer to the oven, baking to perfection in just 15 to 25 minutes.

A Decade of Dedication: The Story Behind Jo’s Buttermilk Biscuits
For Gaines, many of these recipes are steeped in personal history, none more so than Jo’s Buttermilk Biscuits. Speaking at a press preview on Wednesday, October 1, held at Magnolia’s headquarters in Waco, Gaines revealed the years-long journey to perfect this family staple. The quest began with her husband, Chip, who, having grown up with canned biscuits, yearned for a truly homemade version to accompany his gravy.
“I feel like it took years to develop a recipe that everyone agreed on,” Gaines recounted. “And finally when we found it, it was like, everyone was happy. Did this every Saturday. It’s my boys’ favorite meal.” After a period of “boredom” with the original, Gaines developed a “more layered” recipe that became the foundation for the frozen offering. The biscuits hold such significance that Gaines recently put them to the ultimate test: her eldest son, Drake, 20, a junior in college and self-proclaimed “biscuit connoisseur.” After preparing four boxes of the new frozen biscuits for Drake and his roommates one Sunday morning – without revealing they were from the new line – the verdict was a resounding “10 out of 10.” All four boxes were devoured, a testament to their authentic, homemade taste.

Chocolate Chip Cookies: A Sweet Tribute to a Father’s Love
Another item deeply rooted in Gaines’ personal narrative is the Chocolate Chip Cookie, infused with warm vanilla and a hint of sea salt. This recipe is a heartfelt tribute to her father, whose “love language is food, especially sugar.” Gaines fondly recalled being 10 or 11 years old when her father, whose Korean wife didn’t bake sweets, spontaneously suggested they bake chocolate chip cookies together. “I’ll never forget that memory because to me, that then started something in my mind with my dad,” she shared. To this day, Gaines saves half of her homemade sweets for her father.
The profound connection was underscored recently when her father, recovering from surgery and restricted from sweets, eagerly listed chocolate chip cookies as the first item on his post-recovery meal requests. Despite Gaines’ plan to wait for his full recovery, her father “cheated” one midnight, sending her a picture of himself happily indulging in one of the new frozen cookies. “He’s like, ‘Now I don’t have to wait for you to cook for me,’” Gaines said, describing the touching moment. “He said it was wonderful.”

A Curated Collection of Fan Favorites
Beyond these personal anecdotes, the new line also features recipes that have garnered immense popularity. The After School Banana Bread, rich with brown sugar, and the indulgent Classic Cinnamon Rolls with their signature cream cheese icing, are frequent subjects of social media tags from fans of her three Magnolia Table cookbooks. Gaines also ensured the inclusion of the top three best-selling cookies from her popular Silos Baking Co. in Waco: the buttery Classic Sugar Cookies, which Gaines describes as “the most classic” and versatile for creating “a bigger moment” with buttercream filling and sprinkles, and the kid-friendly Silo Cookies, a delightful mix of peanut butter chips, chocolate chips, warm oats, and crunchy walnuts.

Homemade Taste, Unmatched Convenience
Ultimately, Gaines’ new venture is born from a relatable need for convenience in today’s fast-paced world. With five children—Drake (20), Ella (18), Duke (17), Emmie (15), and Crew (7)—and a busy schedule filled with sports games and professional commitments, Gaines understands the “juggle” of modern parenthood. “Even for me, as much as I love to just cook and bake from scratch, this is helpful in this season of life,” she admitted. The frozen line provides a welcome “cheat” for supplementing home-cooked meals or effortlessly serving dessert, allowing families to enjoy scratch-made taste without the extensive preparation.

“So I will be baking this as much as anybody else,” Gaines concluded, highlighting that these ready-to-bake treats are designed to offer a thoughtful, delicious solution for bringing warmth and comfort to any table, proving that homemade quality can indeed be found in the freezer aisle.
