The Queen of Christmas’s Enduring Legacy
Mariah Carey’s connection to Christmas is unparalleled, largely due to her timeless 1994 hit, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” This holiday anthem has become a global phenomenon, annually dominating charts and solidifying her legacy as the sound of Christmas. Her upcoming Las Vegas engagement builds on a strong history of successful residencies, including “The Celebration of Mimi Live in Las Vegas” shows earlier in 2024 and 2025 at the very same Dolby Live venue, demonstrating her enduring appeal in the entertainment capital.
New Album and Recent Accolades
Beyond the holiday spectacular, Carey is also preparing for the release of her 16th studio album, “Here for It All,” slated to drop on September 26. The new project features the singles “Type Dangerous” and “Sugar Sweet,” promising fresh material for her devoted fanbase. This busy period follows a momentous achievement earlier this month when Carey was honored with the prestigious Video Vanguard Award at the 2025 MTV VMAs. Accepting her first-ever Moon Person trophy, a delighted Carey quipped on stage, “Thank you so much for MTV for giving me the Vanguard Award. I can’t believe I’m getting my first VMA tonight… I just have one question: What in the Sam Hill were you waiting for? I’m kidding. I love you.” She also clinched the award for Best R&B for “Type Dangerous” on the same memorable night, further cementing her indelible mark on music history.
This carefully crafted residency, combined with new music and recent accolades, underscores Mariah Carey’s continued influence and relevance in the global music landscape, ensuring a truly merry and bright holiday season for her fans.
