Drake Confesses to Photoshopping Six-Pack Abs, Addresses ‘BBL Drizzy’ Rumors on Bobbi Althoff Podcast
In a candid moment that has now gone viral, Grammy-winning artist Drake, 38, has confessed to digitally altering a shirtless photo he posted in June 2025, which had ignited a flurry of speculation across social media. The image, showcasing a remarkably defined six-pack, led many to question whether the rapper had undergone cosmetic surgery or simply edited the picture.

Drake directly addressed the swirling rumors during his appearance on Bobbi Althoff’s Not This Again podcast on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. The podcast host, 28-year-old Althoff, didn’t shy away from asking the tough questions, directly inquiring if Drake had received “abdominal etching.” This cosmetic procedure, a type of liposuction, specifically targets the abdominal area to enhance muscle definition, according to Healthline. Althoff noted the internet’s intense theorizing following the June photo, stating, “People think you got a procedure done.”

Initially, Drake responded with characteristic humor, denying the claims while playfully bringing up another long-standing rumor: “People also say that I got a BBL [Brazilian Butt Lift]. They call me ‘BBL Drizzy.'” He continued to joke about the speculation, adding, “I don’t know if my wagon looked crazy when I walked in here.”
However, the “God’s Plan” hitmaker eventually revealed the truth behind his sculpted look. “I came from the gym, I was sweaty in that pic,” he explained, shedding light on the post-workout glow captured in the original image. He then admitted to a degree of digital enhancement, stating, “Maybe I heightened the saturation or something on it.” With a touch of self-deprecation, Drake confessed, “I think I hit it too hard. They don’t look like that.” This admission provided clarity, confirming that while his dedication to fitness is real, the intensity of his visible abs in the photo was, in part, an illusion.
The “BBL Drizzy” nickname and associated plastic surgery rumors gained significant traction earlier, notably in 2024, when music producer Metro Boomin released a diss track titled “BBL Drizzy.” This track emerged amidst the high-profile feud between Drake and fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar, adding a layer of public scrutiny to Drake’s physique and contributing to the widespread speculation.
Drake is not the only prominent rapper to face such inquiries. In July 2025, Big Sean, 37, also had to publicly deny claims of receiving abdominal implants. After fitness influencer Blake Sanburg theorized about the rapper’s abs being a result of etching or steroid use, Big Sean directly commented, unequivocally stating, “Bro, unfortunately mine are real lol.” He added, “I got love for the fake [ab] community tho, to each its own, but what makes this funnier is this is the way God made me.” These incidents highlight a recurring theme within celebrity culture, where the pursuit and presentation of physical perfection often invite intense public debate and scrutiny, sometimes leading to confessions about the subtle, or not-so-subtle, art of digital enhancement.
