Ashley St. Clair Launches “Bad Advice” Podcast Amidst Eviction Claims and Elon Musk Custody Battle
Ashley St. Clair, the 26-year-old author and influencer, has launched her new podcast, “Bad Advice,” on Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, on Monday, August 18. The inaugural episode immediately garnered attention as St. Clair claimed she was facing eviction, directly linking her new media venture to a dire financial predicament amidst her ongoing, high-profile custody dispute with tech magnate Elon Musk, 53, over their son, Romulus.
A Candid Launch and Urgent Financial Motive
In the podcast’s opening, St. Clair candidly stated, “Well, after a year of unplanned career suicide, many questionable life choices and a gap in my LinkedIn profile that cannot be legally explained, I’ve decided to start a podcast.” She further revealed the immediate financial incentive behind the launch, attributing her ability to “keep a roof over my head” to a $10,000 ad read from the prediction market platform, Polymarket. “Not because anybody asked, but because statistically speaking, it was either join this or join a (multi-level marketing scheme),” she quipped, emphasizing her pressing need for income. She also distinguished her podcast from established figures, stating, “I’m not starting this because I think my big-brain thoughts and my podcast mic are the greatest gift to humanity. I actually think I have the worst ideas, so consider everything out of my mouth a cautionary tale.”
The Escalating Custody Battle Over Romulus
The public dispute between St. Clair and Musk escalated earlier this year following her announcement on X on February 14 that she had welcomed a son, R.S.C., with Musk. It was later confirmed in April that their son’s first name is Romulus. St. Clair stated her initial silence was “to protect our child’s privacy and safety,” but felt compelled to disclose due to impending tabloid revelations. She has since initiated legal proceedings, suing Musk for sole custody of their child.
Financial Support and Paternity: A Contentious Debate
The core of their contentious custody battle appears to revolve around financial support and paternity. In March, Musk publicly denied St. Clair’s accusations of “financial retaliation” against their child. He asserted that, “despite not knowing for sure” if Romulus is his biological son, he had provided substantial financial assistance, claiming to have “given Ashley $2.5M and am sending her $500k/year.”
However, St. Clair swiftly countered Musk’s assertions. She alleged that Musk “refused” to undergo a paternity test even before their son’s birth, despite having named the child. She further accused him of withdrawing the majority of the child support “to maintain control and punish me for disobedience,” adding, “But you’re really only punishing your son.”
Relationship Origins and Musk’s Expanding Family
The relationship between St. Clair and Musk reportedly began after they connected on X and worked together in San Francisco, as she recounted to the New York Post in February 2025. This child marks Musk’s 14th known offspring, as he is also the father of 13 other children shared with three other women.
