Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Extend Netflix Partnership, “With Love, Meghan” Returns with New Season
In a significant development for their burgeoning media empire, Meghan Markle, 44, and Prince Harry have confirmed the extension of their highly anticipated partnership with Netflix. The announcement, made on August 11, solidifies a new multi-year, first-look deal through their Archewell Productions, just as the second season of the Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, prepares for its highly anticipated debut.
This extended collaboration comes on the heels of earlier speculation in July that the couple’s initial five-year, $100 million deal with the streaming giant, set to expire in September, might not be renewed. However, the new agreement not only dispels these rumors but also expands the scope of their creative endeavors to include Meghan’s lifestyle brand, “As ever.”
A New Chapter for Archewell Productions
“We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As ever brand,” Meghan stated, emphasizing the couple’s shared vision. “My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally and celebrates our shared vision.”
The renewed deal underscores Netflix’s confidence in the couple’s ability to produce compelling content. Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, lauded their impact: “Harry and Meghan are influential voices whose stories resonate with audiences everywhere. The response to their work speaks for itself — Harry & Meghan gave viewers an intimate look into their lives and quickly became one of our most-watched documentary series.”
“With Love, Meghan” Returns and Expands
The extension coincides with the release of the With Love, Meghan Season 2 trailer, offering fans a glimpse into the food and lifestyle show’s star-studded upcoming episodes, which reportedly feature guests like Chrissy Teigen. The second season, directed by Michael Steed, was notably filmed shortly after the debut season premiered in March.

Adding to the excitement, the announcement confirmed a With Love, Meghan holiday special, slated to premiere in December. However, the long-term future of the series beyond this special remains unconfirmed.
The synergy between the series and Meghan’s “As ever” brand is evident, with many products from the line prominently featured on the show. Netflix, acting as a “passive partner” in Meghan’s company, sees this as a significant “discovery model.” Meghan herself highlighted the strategic fit, telling Inc that she was developing a different business plan until a meeting with Josh Simon, Netflix’s Vice President of Consumer Products. “The reach from Netflix, coupled with my vision for the brand, felt like it was going to be a really perfect match,” she remarked, citing Netflix’s extensive experience in licensing deals and transforming intellectual property into successful products, akin to the expanded universe of Bridgerton.
Diverse Projects on the Horizon
Beyond the lifestyle realm, Archewell Productions is actively developing a slate of new projects across various genres. The new deal specifically highlights a documentary project titled Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within. This film promises to delve into a Ugandan orphanage in the Masaka region, which serves as “a beacon of hope” amidst the HIV/AIDS crisis, showcasing how orphaned children “transform hardship into joy, dancing their way toward healing, belonging, and the promise of a brighter future.”
Furthermore, the couple confirmed that the adaptation of Carley Fortune’s bestselling novel, Meet Me at the Lake, is still in active development. This romantic drama will explore “a decade-spanning love story that begins with a chance encounter and a broken promise.”
As their creative partnership with Netflix deepens, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appear poised to deliver a diverse array of content, leveraging their global platform to share compelling stories that resonate with audiences worldwide.
