Actor Isaac Ordonez, 16, who portrays the younger Addams sibling, has undergone a significant growth spurt between seasons, a change so noticeable it has him physically “towering” over his onscreen sister, Jenna Ortega, 22. This shift not only marks a visual difference but also signals a substantial expansion of Pugsley’s role within the gothic narrative.
Ordonez recently shared his amusement over the height difference during an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the season two premiere event held at Central Hall Westminster in London. “I was the same height as Jenna in season one. I’ve grown quite a lot,” the young actor remarked with a laugh, playfully describing his new stature as “amazing.” This rapid development highlights the passage of time since the series first captivated audiences upon its November 2022 premiere.
The upcoming season, set to unleash its first four episodes on August 6, promises a deeper dive into Pugsley’s character arc. In a significant shift from the inaugural season, where he primarily served as Wednesday’s protected younger brother at home, Pugsley is now officially enrolled as a student at the enigmatic Nevermore Academy. This move opens a new realm of possibilities for the character, a development Ordonez enthusiastically described as “a big promotion” to NME in July.
“It was great to really play around with this character,” Ordonez told PEOPLE, expressing his excitement about having “more free-range, and, like, room to really grow.” He teased a multi-faceted portrayal for Pugsley in the new season, revealing, “He’s got powers… he makes a lot of friends, and also [makes] connections with some not so good people. I will say that.” Viewers can anticipate a more dynamic Pugsley, one who retains his emotional depth but also unleashes a “more energetic side” and proves to be “a lot more mischievous.”
Ordonez also reflected on his collaborative experience with lead actress Jenna Ortega, noting, “Watching her through the monitor, like, you really start to pick up things.” He praised his onscreen sister, calling her “wonderful” and “such a nice woman.”
