Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams has captivated fans with a bold and unconventional release of 17 new solo singles, first appearing on a mysterious website before a wider official release on Friday, August 1, 2025. This latest move underscores the 36-year-old artist’s commitment to artistic independence and innovative distribution.
The saga began on Monday, July 28, 2025, when Williams initiated a cryptic online experience. Fans gained exclusive access to a secret website, with entry codes distributed as part of a recent drop from her Good Dye Young hair dye brand. Within the digital space, users could interact with the unreleased tracks, organized into movable folders on the screen. A “Misc” folder offered a deeper dive into her creative process, featuring a photograph of a lyric book and a “Hayley Williams is my favorite band” T-shirt, hinting at the personal nature of the collection. However, the exclusive listening party was fleeting; roughly 24 hours later, the website vanished, replaced by a simple, enigmatic message: “Thank you for listening.”
Undeterred by the brief disappearance, the highly anticipated collection officially materialized just days later. Comprising 17 unique songs, the entire project was produced by Daniel James, highlighting a focused collaborative effort. Williams herself took on significant roles, writing, recording, and playing multiple instruments across all tracks. The collection is a testament to her independent spirit, self-released under her new venture, Post Atlantic, and distributed through Secretly Distribution.
The surprise release follows Williams’ recent appearance at the Newport Folk Festival, where she debuted “Mirtazapine.” This grunge-inspired track, an open exploration of mental health and antidepressants, resonated deeply with the audience. The new collection further showcases her diverse lyrical landscape, including “True Believer,” a downtempo protest song that critically examines the weaponization of Christianity in the American South. Another notable track, “Discovery Channel,” ingeniously samples The Bloodhound Gang’s 1999 hit “The Bad Touch,” while “Ice in My OJ” features a chorus originally sung by Williams in 2004 on “Jumping Inside” by the Mammoth City Messengers, providing a nostalgic nod to her earlier career.
This latest solo endeavor adds to Williams’ growing individual discography, which includes the critically acclaimed albums Petals for Armor (2020) and Flowers for Vases (2021), alongside three EPs. While continuing her impactful work with Paramore, whose most recent album, This Is Why, was released in 2023, Williams has also explored various collaborations, such as her May 2025 single “I Like It I Like It” with Moses Sumney.
