Rapper Booked After Allegedly Assaulting Officer Following “Nude in the Street” Report
Los Angeles, CA – Grammy Award-winning artist Lil Nas X, born Montero Hill, found himself in a Los Angeles County jail on Thursday, August 21, following his arrest on allegations of assaulting a police officer. The incident unfolded in the early hours, beginning with reports of a man found unclothed in the street.

Authorities were first alerted just before 6 a.m. when officers from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to multiple calls regarding a man “nude in the street” on Ventura Boulevard. Upon arrival, law enforcement personnel encountered the 26-year-old “Industry Baby” singer. According to an LAPD spokesperson, the situation escalated when the suspect allegedly “batter[ed] an officer,” leading to his immediate arrest.
Following the alleged assault, Lil Nas X was booked on a misdemeanor charge of battery on a peace officer. After his arrest, he was initially transported to a local hospital for treatment. PEOPLE confirmed that the artist was discharged from the hospital and subsequently processed at the Los Angeles county jail, with his booking officially recorded at 11:22 a.m. The specifics of the treatment received at the hospital have not been disclosed.
Hours prior to the arrest, around 4 a.m., photos published by TMZ reportedly showed the rapper walking down Ventura Boulevard wearing only underwear and boots. The outlet also indicated that law enforcement received several calls expressing concern about a possible overdose related to the individual’s behavior, although an LAPD spokesperson was unable to independently confirm these reports.
This incident follows a period where Lil Nas X has openly discussed health challenges. In April, the “Old Town Road” sensation shared a video from a hospital bed on Instagram, revealing he was experiencing facial paralysis. He later assured fans he was “doing OK” and urged them to “stop being sad” for him, adding, “Imma look funny for a lil bit but that’s it.”
Professionally, Lil Nas X recently released his EP, Days Before Dreamboy, which features singles such as “Light Again!”, “Hotbox,” and “Big Dummy!”. His representatives have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the arrest.
