Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco Make Red Carpet Debut as Married Couple at Academy Museum Gala

Los Angeles, CA – Weeks after exchanging vows in a private California ceremony, actress and singer Selena Gomez, 33, and Grammy-winning music producer Benny Blanco, 27, made their highly anticipated red carpet debut as a married couple at the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala on Saturday, October 18, 2025. The high-profile event, held in Los Angeles, serves as a crucial fundraiser for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, last year reportedly raising an impressive $11 million, according to Deadline.

Gomez, radiating a distinct newlywed glow, captivated onlookers with her homage to Old Hollywood glamour. She graced the red carpet in a stunning black gown adorned with sparkling embellishments, complemented by a sophisticated black suit jacket, a bold red lip, and her hair elegantly styled in an updo. Blanco, ever dapper, opted for a classic black jacket and trousers, adding a touch of casual sophistication with a blue dress shirt left unbuttoned at the top.

Their appearance follows a romantic wedding speculated to have taken place around September 27, 2025, where Gomez showcased a breathtaking custom Ralph Lauren floral halter-neck gown. The intricate design featured personal touches including the newlyweds’ initials intertwined in hearts, their wedding date inscribed, and 300 hand-shaped and applied lace flowers and crystal embellishments on a hand-painted corset. Her bridal wardrobe also included a vintage-inspired reception dress and a chic blazer ensemble. The intimate ceremony saw a star-studded guest list, including close friends like Ed Sheeran, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Paul Rudd, and Paris Hilton, who also witnessed the couple unveil their wedding bands.

The Gala itself honored cinematic luminaries Penélope Cruz, Walter Salles, music icon Bruce Springsteen, and Saturday Night Live‘s Bowen Yang, recognizing their significant contributions to film and culture.

Just a day prior to the Gala, Gomez was recognized at the Daytime Emmy Awards, where her latest culinary venture, Selena + Restaurant, received a nomination for Outstanding Culinary Instructional Series. Though the award ultimately went to Delicious Miss Brown, this marked Gomez’s third Daytime Emmy nomination, following previous nods for Selena + Chef (2020) and its holiday special. Reflecting on her culinary journey in a 2022 interview with PEOPLE, Gomez candidly admitted, “Season 1, I was a complete disaster, and not to say I still don’t have my moments, but I’ve come a long way. I love when I get the chance to cook for my friends and family.”

Selena + Restaurant, which premiered on Max in May 2024, sees Gomez alongside her best friend Raquelle Stevens, delving into Los Angeles’s vibrant and competitive food scene, offering viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the restaurant industry. “After cooking mostly virtually from my kitchen with some of the best chefs for the last four years, I was thrilled to step into their world,” Gomez shared in a press release. “You’ll have to see if being in person helped my skills at all.”

Beyond her successful acting and producing career, Gomez is also the visionary founder of Rare Beauty and the Rare Impact Fund, dedicated to youth mental health. During an appearance at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit on October 15, she shared invaluable career advice passed down from her longtime friend, singer Taylor Swift, 35. Gomez recalled Swift’s wisdom: “If you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room,” crediting Swift as “one of the most brilliant people I’ve ever met.”
