Machine Gun Kelly Shares Wild Fan Encounter, Teases New Music & Tour

Los Angeles, CA — Colson Baker, better known as Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), captivated an audience at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 1st, by sharing one of the most astonishing fan interactions of his career. During “The Drop,” a live interview series, the 35-year-old musician offered a candid glimpse into the sometimes-unpredictable world of rock stardom, alongside insights into his creative process and future plans.

A Fan’s Extreme Dedication

The memorable incident unfolded during a European leg of his tour. MGK vividly recalled a devoted fan who, feeling he hadn’t received “enough time” with the artist at a show, took drastic measures. The fan defiantly laid down directly in front of MGK’s tour bus, effectively blocking its departure. “We were like, ‘Bro, you got to move,'” MGK recounted, describing the fan’s stubborn refusal as he inched closer to the bus wheel. The situation escalated when a member of MGK’s entourage intervened, lifting the fan and, in a truly bizarre turn, placing him headfirst into a flower pot, leaving only his legs protruding. Yet, even this didn’t deter the persistent admirer. Moments after reboarding the bus, the driver revealed the fan had once again positioned himself in front of the wheels. MGK, reflecting on the extreme dedication, described the incident as “gnarly” but added, with a touch of understanding, “He wanted more time, which was sweet.”

Relentless Imagination Fuels Evolution

Beyond the fan encounter, the “Bloody Valentine” singer also shed light on his artistic philosophy and upcoming projects. He asserted that his continued success and the evolution of his art stem from a “relentless” imagination, a quality he guards fiercely. “One of the hardest things to do as you grow up is to maintain your imagination,” he mused, adding, “I think the only reason that my art continues to evolve is because my imagination won’t go anywhere. It’s relentless, and it’s something that I hold onto as closely as I hold on to my children.”

Anticipated Tour and Surprise Album

Fans can look forward to an extensive period of new music and live performances. MGK confirmed he is gearing up for a significant tour supporting his latest album, Lost Americana, which dropped in August. This marks his return to the road after a hiatus of “two or three years.” The tour is slated to commence on the West Coast, with a particularly meaningful start at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. MGK confessed to a personal “grudge” with the iconic venue, recalling how his last performance there was “this close to selling out.” Determined to rectify this, he declared, “So I was like, ‘You ain’t getting over on me, buddy!'” The tour is projected to span “about a year and a half,” promising fans a long stretch of engagement. Adding an intriguing twist, MGK teased a surprise for his devoted followers: “Little does anyone know — that during that time, at some point, another album will surface.”

Evolved Advice for Aspiring Artists
