198 Individuals on Board Unharmed After Ground Incident During Pushback; Passengers Re-accommodated

ATLANTA – A Delta Air Lines passenger jet, preparing for departure from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Sunday morning, experienced a ground incident when its wing clipped an empty, parked aircraft. Despite the collision, no injuries were reported among the 198 individuals on board the departing flight.

The incident occurred as the Delta plane, which was scheduled to operate Flight to Guatemala City, was pushing back from its gate. According to a brief statement from Delta Air Lines, the wing of the active aircraft “reportedly made contact” with an unoccupied plane stationed nearby on the tarmac.

Following the collision, the 192 customers, two pilots, and four flight attendants on board were safely deplaned. They were subsequently transferred to another aircraft to continue their journey to Guatemala City, causing an unavoidable delay to their travel plans.

Delta Air Lines, headquartered in Atlanta, confirmed the absence of any injuries and stated that additional information regarding the specific details of the incident was not immediately available. The airline prioritizes the safety of its passengers and crew, and protocols were followed to ensure their well-being and continued travel with minimal further disruption.
